Town Meetings with External Research Consultants
January 13, 2005


January 5 you received an A-List memo from me regarding the team of external research consultants I've engage to help us understand USM's institutional capacity for research, scholarship, and creative activity.

The team's purpose is to help us chart a direction for strengthening our capacity to achieve national recognition for regional excellence.Team members are Claire Collins and E. J. Lovett from Lovett Collins, a regional firm specializing in integrating research within institutional mission and culture, and Ed Derrick from the Research Competitiveness Group of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the world's largest general scientific society.
I have scheduled the following town meetings, during which you all can meet with this team, ask questions and find out more about USM's research review.

  • Wednesday, January 26, 12:30-1:30 p.m., Lewiston-Auburn College
  • Thursday, January 27, 9:30-11 a.m., Room 233, Mitchell Center, Gorham
  • Monday, January 31, 1-2:30 p.m., Seventh Floor, Glickman Library, Portland
